I think you would like it. We were really pampered by the CL staff. dare I say even more than the Grand. Eek The biggest reason we never stay there is that it is too much like home. If you are not staying CL though it can be a very loooooooong walk in the morning for coffee. The coffee alone is worth staying CL. Rotfl2

Hello YC fans,

Quick question: do all YC rooms have a daybed? I've seen some BC room photos that don't have them. TIA!

Thanks, Maxie! It's crucial for us since we're a family of 5. I'd be nervous that we'd get a room without it. Unless, of course, they give those rooms to parties of 5?

I wouldn't worry about it especially since there are five of you. The room would have to have a daybed to sleep five. Our room that didn't have one had a space where one was...maybe it was being replaced??? We've had the same thing at the GF...space where the daybed was but no daybed. Confused24

You're right- it would all work out in the end. That's my mantra in life! During our first stay at the Grand, we booked MK view (foolish but I digress). Anyway, they put the 5 of us in a dormer room. The twins were one and still in cribs. I told them it would simply be too tigh and they very graciously moved us down a floor. My MK view was then a "tree trunk view" but we had more room so all was well!

Bummer on the tree trunk view when you paid for a MK view. They don't count kids under three for room occupancy so that would explain why they gave you the smaller room. That doesn't mean that they don't make mistakes sometimes and give you the wrong room, but you already know that you can always ask for another room. Yes, it all works out in the end.

I don't think all of them do, but the majority of them do. We have never NOT had one.

If you are a family of 5 then you should automatically get a room with one.

Wondering if anyone has information/pics of YC CL Deluxe rooms? I've seen pics of the deluxe rooms at the BC, but there doesn't seem to be anything (that I can find) for YC Confused24. TIA.

Sorry I don't have any pics of a deluxe room. I know Kristin stayed in a deluxe BWI room but I don't recall anyone mentioning YC. Hmmm I think we are lacking in that....someone will have to take one for the team and stay in one so we can get pics. Smile I do like CL at the YC. The lounge is small but we could usually get a seat. Breakfast is the busiest time, you have to get there early.

Thanks, maxie Biggrin. I have been searching and googling everything I can think of to find ANYTHING on the YC deluxe rooms, but have come up with nothing Sad20. Of course, googling it always brings up everything about the resort because it takes the "deluxe" to mean deluxe resort.....not deluxe room. I'm considering booking it for next summer and if I do, I will definitely take lots of pics; but if not, I do agree that someone needs to take one for the team and just stay there Yes.

RE: YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORT FAQ & INFO THREAD
Quick review of the BC!

We're just back from a 6 night stay at the BC. We stayed CL level and had a deluxe room. Here is my take:

Likes: Heart

Location, location, location! Love the proximity to DHS & Epcot. Our room overlooked the quiet pool which was right by the walkway to Epcot. We loved walking over to the BW area.

SAB- Need I say more?!

Big room- We had a deluxe room (2557) and it was HUGE. Perfect for our family. It had 2 zone a/c! Our balcony was also huge- at least double the size of a regular room.

Valet services- Either SWA or DME lost my bag (each pointed the finger at the other). I dealt with someone named Nicole from Valet Services. She was fantastic. She worked SO hard to find my bag. It ended up in Key West (the actual Key West) so I think it was SWA who screwed up. I mentioned to Nicole that the flight continued there after MCO and a few hours later, we got a call that the bag was there. I'm confident either she called or she lit a fire under SWA. The bag was returned to me by the next night and I'll be eternally grateful to this young lady for all of her help.

Beaches & Cream- We really enjoyed this place! Service was great and the food was good.

Bus Service- Great! Minimal wait times and we got a seat all but once. I'd heard very bad things about service to DTD but we had no issues whatsoever.

Lounge staff- They mostly appeared to be college-aged kids with a few adults. This staff was kept running all the time but they never failed to be polite, responsive and helpful. They were kind to my children and brought them cookies even they weren't out. I can't say enough about how nice these folks were. Some guests were demanding and spoke rudely but the lounge staff always remained gracious. I really liked them!

NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

Lounge. This lounge is WAAAY too small for the number of CL guests. One night, the line stretched down the hallway (they served lobster salad that night). We went back downstairs rather than deal with it! I mentioned it to a CL staff member (a desk guy). He told me that next year, they are taking over the corner room (right next to lounge) and expanding it. He said they'd like to get the room next to it but that's not been decided yet. He also said they ruled out expanding the balcony area as it would change the outside appearance and be too difficult to do. Food choices were "eh"-nothing knocked my socks off but nothing was awful either. They need to vary the midday snack: it's always potato chips, dip, Swedish fish, trail mix, yogurt pretzels and cookies.

Rudies: A lot more bad behavior than we ever saw in SL- bare feet, picking thing up with hands, unattended kids, etc. We saw quite a few guests taking far too long at tables during the breakfast rush. One couple set up their laptops. It's certainly their right to do so but I think it's better manners to wait until after the rush is over so all guests can sit down. There was a particularly annoying kid, he was perhaps about 10-12 y/o. He was usually there when we were. He was staying with someone who had a scooter (don't get me started on scooters!) and he rode it into the lounge. The next day he took ALL of the sugar cookies with Mickey heads. I mean ALL of them. Another guest questioned him on it and he said they were for his family. He had to have at least a dozen. Too bad for the rest of us! I know the BC has nothing to do with Rudies but I saw a lot more than I ever saw in SL. It was funny to us so maybe it belongs in the Likes category?! LOL!!! Biggrin

CL staff- The women were lovely but the men- ugh. The man who checked us in had a very bad attitude and seemed annoyed. He was quite haughty and I'm not sure why. When my bag was missing, I asked another of them if he could help me find an iphone charger because my phone was almost dead (Nicole from VS suggested I do this because they keep them if guests leave them behind and don't claim them). He said there was nothing he could do and I should see the front desk. I thought that was a little rude. IMO, he should've called them for me because I was clearly at the end of my rope by then (not sobbing but my eyes were watering). I had to go to the lobby where an incredibly nice Guests Services rep found an Ihome that would charge the iphone (the ones in the room don't). Also, we weren't greeted on arrival. No big deal whatsoever but I think it gets things started on the right foot. There was no apology for the lack of greeting either. Again, just a lack of customer service.

Housekeeping- Stingy with toiletries. We also found a toy cell phone under the day bed. My daughter was happy but I think it should a lack of attention to detail. It made me wonder if they ever vacuum under there. We had spider webs on the lamps over the beds, too. It wasn't noticeable until they were on and you were laying in bed. Our ironing board didn't have a cover over it. We asked for one but it never came.

The decor is nice but a bit tired. The carpet in the hallways could use a good steam cleaning which I think would brighten things up. It's a shame because the carpet is very pretty.

Another thing. This is kind of yucky. We had bugs in the room. They were teeny-tiny (smaller than gnats) and crawled. They came out of a crack between the bathtub and the walk (desperately needed caulking). We also saw them across the room, on top of the unit that houses the fridge. We also saw them on the top of the tall chest of drawers. I have no idea what they were but our suitcases went directly to the laundry room yesterday and I'm washing EVERYTHING just in case any got in our bags. They were sooo little so we knew they weren't anything gross (bed bugs, roaches, etc) but it was off-putting.

All in all, it was a great trip! I'd recommend BC to a friend because the likes really outweighed the rest. My kids loved it!

Welcome back Smile

Great report.....thanks for sharing. I'm glad you enjoyed your BC stay....sounds like your deluxe room was awesome Thumbsup2. I have stayed CL at the WL and GF (both SL & RPC) and while I can't wait to try other CLs, I'm always afraid the CMs won't live up to the awesome ones I've experienced at the GF and WL Confused. I have heard the lounge at both the BC and YC are very small for the amount of guests that stay there......glad to hear the BC has plans to expand theirs Wink.

Thanks for posting your review. Sounds like you had a great trip. SAB is awesome, I knew your kids would love it. I really like staying on the Epcot side when we go in December or the fall. The MK closes so early most nights for the parties, so we definately spend more time in Epcot and DHS then we do in the spring. Good to hear the buses were good and you could get a seat. Last December we couldn't even get the boat to DHS...it was so crowded that it didn't even stop at the YC the night we tried to take it to DHS unless someone was getting off...then if two people got off they only allowed two people to get on.

Tons of fun!

Big room- We had a deluxe room (2557) and it was HUGE. Perfect for our family. It had 2 zone a/c! Our balcony was also huge- at least double the size of a regular room.

I'm glad.. haha..I was thinking maybe I need to change our xmas trip to BC and request this room...until I read further.... Eek

Valet services- Either SWA or DME lost my bag (each pointed the finger at the other). I dealt with someone named Nicole from Valet Services. She was fantastic. She worked SO hard to find my bag. It was most likely SWA if it went on to Key West... I'm glad somebody there was a good help. That could have really veen a downer.

Beaches & Cream- We really enjoyed this place! Service was great and the food was good.

Bus Service- Great! Minimal wait times and we got a seat all but once. I'd heard very bad things about service to DTD but we had no issues whatsoever.

We always had nice happy cast members in the lounge.. the desk staff is another matter...., lame ish

NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

LOL...I agree..too small..YC is too

Rudies: A lot more bad behavior than we ever saw in SL- bare feet, picking thing up with hands, unattended kids, etc. We saw quite a few guests taking far too long at tables during the breakfast rush. It seems bad manners are becoming more and more frequent. Makes for some good stories and laughs though.... but gross at the time.

No big deal whatsoever but I think it gets things started on the right foot. There was no apology for the lack of greeting either. Again, just a lack of customer service.

That is terrible how unhelpful they were. I thiknk I would have said..get me a manager, loser. Wow. Sorry you had to deal with that. How stressful. You'd think they'd show a little empathy. What's wrong with people? I'm sorry but Disney better step up their game..the Four Seasons is coming to the neighborhood. They need to get rid of these deadbeats that don't realize they are in the customer SERVICE industry. JMO

Housekeeping- Stingy with toiletries. We also found a toy cell phone under the day bed. My daughter was happy but I think it should a lack of attention to detail. Our ironing board didn't have a cover over it. We asked for one but it never came.

ANNOYING.. sounds like the same sort of issues we had at YC with housekeeping every trip this year.... stingy and lacking.

O.M.G. I changed my mind about htis room over Xmas after reading this....and the lack of good housekeeping.. and the lame concierge staff Rotfl2

All in all, it was a great trip! I'd recommend BC to a friend because the likes really outweighed the rest. My kids loved it!
I'm glad you guys had a good time and the kids loved it, Robin! Thanks for the nice review. We always enjoy the Epcot resort area.

Happy travels!
