With the world’s largest Disney character emporium, exquisitely themed celebrity restaurants, a new attraction that soars to the sky, retail boutiques for every taste and a virtual-reality arcade, Downtown Disney offers an extraordinary mix of entertainment, dining and shopping at Walt Disney World Resort. Plus, Downtown Disney parking is free.

Divided into three districts -- West Side, Marketplace and Pleasure Island -- encompassing 120 acres along the southern shore of Buena Vista Lagoon, Downtown Disney bursts with excitement for *all ages, whether guests come to eat, shop or enjoy live entertainment.
“With the addition of terrific destinations like Tren-D, Once Upon a Toy, Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant, Characters in Flight and T-Rex: A Prehistoric Family Adventure, we’re continuing to re-invent the Downtown Disney area and deliver great shopping, dining and entertainment for our guests,” said Kevin Lansberry, Downtown Disney vice president. “Almost around the clock, the Marketplace, Pleasure Island and West Side offer unforgettable experiences that can’t be found anywhere else.”

Inspired by Broadway, Hollywood, traditional “downtowns” and the high-tech world of digital entertainment and virtual reality, Downtown Disney treats guests to a dazzling set of activities from morning until well after midnight:

* Downtown Disney West Side
features a permanent Cirque du Soleil theater with an original theatrical show, La Nouba, produced exclusively for Walt Disney World Resort; Characters in Flight operated by Aerophile, an iconic tethered balloon that takes guests on ascents up to 400 feet for a 360-degree view of Walt Disney World Resort and beyond; DisneyQuest, a five-story, 100,000-square-foot indoor theme park filled with the latest in interactive entertainment and high-tech fun; Gloria and Emilio Estefan’s Bongos Cuban Café; House of Blues; Wolfgang Puck Café; Planet Hollywood; and AMC Pleasure Island 24 Theatres Complex.


* Downtown Disney Marketplace
features a wide variety of shopping and dining adventures for every age and budget, including Tren-D, a hip new women’s store with eclectic fashions and designer jewelry; Once Upon a Toy, a toy store filled with exclusive playthings from Disney and Hasbro; Disney’s Pin Traders, the premier location for pin trading at Walt Disney World Resort; T-Rex: A Prehistoric Family Adventure restaurant, featuring a world of life-size animated dinosaurs that dwell among bubbling geysers, waterfalls and a fossil dig site; Rainforest Café; McDonald’s; Wolfgang Puck Express; Earl of Sandwich; LEGO Imagination Center; Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop; and the World of Disney store, the world’s largest Disney character merchandise location.


* At Downtown Disney Pleasure Island
, Fuego by Sosa Cigars is where cigar connoisseurs can savor a smoke and enjoy other tobacco products in an intimate lounge setting where premium wine, beer, spirits, plus specialty coffees and other non-alcoholic beverages are served daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Fuego by Sosa Cigars is open to guests of all ages; anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult of 21 or older.

Curl by Sammy Duval offers surfers a selection of trendy surfwear clothing and accessories plus skateboards and surfboards, and the Orlando Harley-Davidson Store features apparel, gifts and collectibles.

Fulton’s Crab House is a three-deck dining emporium featuring fresh seasonal seafood favorites flown in daily from seaports around the world; Portobello has rustic country trattoria ambience and offers contemporary regional Italian dishes; Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant features the very best of authentic Irish food, drink, heritage and live entertainment; Paradiso 37, a high-energy restaurant and bar offering menu items from the 37 countries of North, South and Central America.

*Passenger boats stop at a dock along the Pleasure Island waterfront to shuttle guests to other Downtown Disney locations.*

The Downtown Disney area is an exciting metropolis of restaurants, theaters and merchandise shops incorporating the Marketplace, Pleasure Island and the 66-acre West Side.

Location: The 120-acre area borders the south shore of Buena Vista Lagoon at the intersection of Buena Vista Drive and Hotel Plaza Boulevard in the east-central portion of Walt Disney World Resort. Downtown Disney parking is free.

Downtown Disney West Side: West Side, largest of the three Downtown Disney areas, includes 344,000 square feet of buildings and a 9,500-square-foot area for events and entertainment.

AMC Pleasure Island 24 Theatres Complex -- 24 separate auditoriums with stadium seating in 18 theaters for unobstructed viewing. Total area: 110,000 square feet.
Bongos Cuban Cafe -- Restaurant created by Emilio and Gloria Estefan brings the sizzle of Miami’s South Beach with Cuban cuisine and Latin rhythms. Seats 500, total area: 16,000 square feet.
Characters in Flight operated by Aerophile -- An iconic tethered balloon lifts guests some 400 feet into the sky offering breathtaking views of Walt Disney World Resort and beyond.

Cirque du Soleil -- The theatrical show La Nouba is filled with action, humor, color and light, blending the ancient traditions of circus with dance, acrobatics and street entertainment. Seats 1,671, total area: 73,800 square feet. The Cirque du Soleil Boutique is located in the Lobby-Plaza level.

DisneyQuest -- The ultimate interactive adventure. A 100,000-square-foot family entertainment environment which includes The Wonderland Café for desserts and drinks, and FoodQuest for quick-service dining. The DisneyQuest Emporium is a themed shopping experience.
Disney’s Candy Cauldron -- Southern style sweets in an open candy kitchen.

House of Blues
-- Live music every night including blues, jazz, country and rock with Mississippi delta cuisine. World famous Gospel Brunch. Restaurant seats 400, music venue holds 2,000, total area: 33,000 square feet.
Hoypoloi -- A gallery filled with an eclectic collection of uncommon art.
[b]Magic Masters -- Elegant magic shop inspired by Harry Houdini’s personal library.
Magnetron[/b] -- Specialty refrigerator magnet shop with an assortment of collector-quality magnets.
Mickey’s Groove -- Clothing, souvenirs, pins, toys and more can be found in this shop dedicated to all things “Big Cheese.”
Planet Hollywood -- Colorful three-floor-up-to-the-ceiling eatarena with famous movie memorabilia and a menu featuring sandwiches, pizza and steaks, and a store featuring themed merchandise. Restaurant seats 550.
Planet Hollywood on Location -- Custom Planet Hollywood Orlando sweatshirts, leather jackets,
T-shirts and movie-themed souvenirs get top billing.
Pop Gallery -- Original, artist-signed sculptures and paintings, as well as upscale gift items.
Sosa Family Cigars -- Premium cigar store features the art of hand-rolling cigars.
Sunglass Icon -- Extraordinary collection of designer sunglasses and eyewear.
Wetzel’s Pretzels -- Features fresh hand-rolled soft pretzels in a variety of flavors, fresh-baked pretzel dogs, Haagen-Dazs ice cream, fresh-squeezed lemonade and outdoor patio seating.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe -- Boldly colored, full-service restaurant featuring wood-fired pizzas and an array of classic Puck entrees. Restaurant seats 552, total area: 15,000 square feet.

Downtown Disney Pleasure Island:

Curl by Sammy Duval -- This is the place for high-end surfing gear, clothing and accessories including surfboards.
Fuego by Sosa Cigars -- An upscale cigar bar/lounge where hand-rolled premium cigars are featured and wine, beer, spirits, plus specialty coffees and other non-alcoholic beverages are served. Fuego by Sosa Cigars is open to guests of all ages; anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult of 21 or older.

Orlando Harley-Davidson Store

Paradiso 37 -- A high-energy restaurant and bar featuring menu items from the 37 countries of North, South and Central America. Entertainment nightly.
Portobello -- Rustic country Italian trattoria ambience with authentic Italian fare. Wood-burning-oven pizzas, pastas and grilled fish are favorites. Seats 350 with outdoor dining on the waterfront.
Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant -- A true slice of Ireland, featuring the very best of authentic Irish food, drink, heritage and live entertainment. Seats 600, total area: 16,500 square feet.


Downtown Disney Marketplace: Exciting restaurants and extraordinary shopping experiences in a strolling street environment with more than 20 venues. A variety of outdoor artisans with merchandise from cloth-covered balloons to creative hair wraps, and silhouette portraits to personalized wood nameplates can be found throughout the Marketplace.

Arribas Brothers -- Glassware, crystal and metal artisan products; glassblowing; custom decorating.

Basin -- All-natural bath and skin care products in a rustic setting.
Cap’n Jack’s Restaurant -- Fresh oysters or clam chowder with accompanying refreshments, sandwiches and other fare served around the Captain’s copper bar.
Disney’s Days of Christmas -- Christmas collectibles, ornaments and Disney character holiday items.
Disney’s Design-a-Tee presented by Hanes -- Customized T-shirts in a variety of colors, styles and themes.

Disney’s Pin Traders -- The premier location for pin trading at Walt Disney World Resort.

Pooh Corner -- A friendly forest setting with Winnie the Pooh merchandise for the young and oung-at-heart.

Rainforest Cafe -- A wild place to shop and eat with favorite sandwiches, pastas, pizzas and an amazing array of appetizers in a unique rainforest setting. Fantastic gifts, too. Seats 500.

Team Mickey’s Athletic Club -- Character apparel with Mickey and friends to suit any fan of any sport, as well as a selection of golf, NASCAR and authentic ESPN sporting goods. Baseball players can get customized baseball gear at the new Rawlings Making the Game sporting goods shop.
The Art of Disney -- Disney animation art and collectibles.
TrenD -- Hip apparel and novel accessories for women with a fashion sense.
T-Rex: A Prehistoric Family Adventure -- Casual dining in a prehistoric world of adventure with life-size animatronic dinosaurs.

World of Disney Store
-- Centerpiece of Downtown Disney, this 51,000-square-foot retail palace is the biggest Disney shopping destination on Earth. Specialties include Disney-themed merchandise rooms, each telling stories based on classic Disney films, and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, a magical salon for little princesses and rock star wannabes ages 3 and up.
Spectacular Entertainment, Dining and Shopping Adventures Await at Downtown Disney West Side


Nestled at the western edge of a sprawling entertainment district at the Walt Disney World Resort, Downtown Disney West Side is 66 acres of eye-popping, sophisticated glitter. There are high-profile celebrity tenants, a 90-minute original theatrical production staged five nights a week, a five-story indoor interactive theme park, a tethered balloon flight and a dizzying collection of eclectic shops offering everything from magic tricks to movie memorabilia. The lineup:

AMC Pleasure Island 24 Theatres Complex
-- 24 separate theaters accommodating up to 5,390 total patrons. Eighteen theaters with stadium seating, two with balconies and screens reaching three stories tall.

Bongos Cuban Cafe -- Created by pop music superstar Gloria Estefan and her husband/producer, Emilio, Bongos Cuban Cafe reflects the sizzle of Miami’s South Beach with Cuban cuisine, Latin rhythms and a tropical theme. Seats 384 at indoor and outdoor tables; 87 at the bar.

Characters in Flight -- Operated by Aerophile, the lighter-than-air, 72-foot-diameter gas balloon carries guests 400 feet above the waterfront for a 360-degree view of Walt Disney World Resort and miles beyond.

Cirque du Soleil La Nouba -- An extraordinary, high-energy production created exclusively for Walt Disney World Resort, La Nouba is a striking mix of theatrical and circus arts, special effects, colorful costumes and original music staged in a state-of-the-art, 1,671-seat theater.

DisneyQuest -- This five-story, 100,000-square-foot indoor theme park immerses guests of all ages in a world of adventure combining the Disney experience with state-of-the-art interactive and virtual-reality technology.

House of Blues -- Mississippi Delta-inspired cuisine, live music and celebrity backers that include Dan Aykroyd, Jim Belushi, John Goodman and Aerosmith make House of Blues one of the hottest tickets in town. Restaurant seats 384 indoors, 158 outdoors, 36 at the bar. Concert facility accommodates 2,000.

Planet Hollywood
-- Colorful three-floor-up-to-the-ceiling eatarena with famous movie memorabilia and a menu featuring sandwiches, pizza and steaks, and a store featuring themed merchandise. Restaurant seats 550.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe -- An array of signature dishes created by celebrity superchef Puck is featured in this full-service upscale eatery. Wood-fired pizzas, pastas and classic Puck entrees are created with the finest ingredients. Seats 518 at tables, 34 at the bar.

Creative Shopping and Dining Destinations Bring Magic to Downtown Disney Marketplace


A whimsical store featuring fun theme park toys, an eclectic boutique for women and a shop devoted to scrapbooks and stationery are creating excitement at Downtown Disney Marketplace, a magical part of Walt Disney World Resort filled with diverse shopping and dining adventures.

Once Upon a Toy offers favorite toys from Disney and Hasbro as well as brand new playthings based on Disney’s theme parks in a 16,000-square-foot store filled with interactive displays and several play areas. Disney's Wonderful World of Memories features a fun collection of uniquely Disney scrapbook supplies, including albums, pre-packaged kits, adhesive tape pens, glue sticks, scissors, and a wide assortment of colorful stickers.

It’s all part of a fun-filled wonderland of shopping and dining adventures at the eastern edge of Downtown Disney, a 120-acre district of themed restaurants, stylish nightclubs, colorful retailers and live entertainment. Here’s what guests will discover at the Marketplace:


Restaurants and Snack Shops


* Cap'n Jack's Restaurant -- There's no better place to get fresh oysters or clam chowder along with sandwiches and other seafood than at Cap'n's copper bar.
* Earl of Sandwich -- This casual eatery features a variety of freshly prepared hot sandwiches, salads and delicious desserts. Also offered are “grab 'n go” cold sandwiches, salads, side orders and desserts.
* Fulton's Crab House -- Set on a replica turn-of-the-century riverboat, Fulton's Crab House is a traditional seafood restaurant featuring fresh flavors and signature recipes. The full-service menu changes daily to reflect more than 50 selections of the freshest seasonal seafood flown in daily.
* Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop -- A dream come true for sweets lovers with wall-to-wall chocolates, tasty treats and delectable indulgences from America's oldest chocolate company. An old-fashioned soda fountain reflecting a turn-of-the-century San Francisco theme serves up oversized ice cream sundaes, shakes, root beer floats and malts.
* Goofy's Candy Co. -- Features creative candy concoctions, including: a centerpiece show kitchen and dipping station where scrumptious confections are created; made-to-order frozen drinks; bulk candy assortments, taffy, rock candy, cotton candy, lollipops and chocolate.
* McDonald's -- At the "Ronald's Fun House" themed restaurant, guests can enjoy McDonald's world-famous food in unique settings such as Ronald's Dining Room, with a 20-foot serpentine dining table; Birdie's Music Room, featuring a giant french-fry organ; and Grimace's Game Room, with entertaining videos for children. "Ronald's Fun House" also includes a retail area with a variety of McDonald's-branded gift items and apparel.
* Portobello -- With a rustic country Italian trattoria ambience, Portobello features a menu of authentic Italian fare. Favorites include a create-your-own antipasti, wood-burning-oven pizzas, pastas and grilled fish. Seats 350 with outdoor dining on the waterfront.
* Rainforest Cafe -- Fluttering butterflies, tropical rain showers, talking banyan trees, live birds and animated gorillas bring the outdoors inside at Rainforest Cafe. Guests can sample a meal with tropical flair or a refreshing beverage at the Mushroom Juice and Coffee Bar. The Rainforest Cafe retail emporium carries a collection of unique artifacts, gardening accessories, handmade products and logo merchandise.
* T-Rex: A Prehistoric Family Adventure -- Walt Disney World guests can enter a world of prehistoric creatures at T-Rex: A Prehistoric Family Adventure. The dinosaur-themed family eatery serves up pizzas, pastas, sea bass and more, and features life-size animated dinosaurs that dwell among bubbling geysers, waterfalls and a fossil dig site.
* Wolfgang Puck Express -- World-renowned chef Wolfgang Puck turns his talents to fast service and favorite specialties including pizzas, focaccia sandwiches, soups and fresh salads -- for those who have great taste and not a lot of time.


Shop Til You Drop

* Arribas Brothers -- This elegant shop has a vast array of imported full-lead crystal from around the world. Guests may view artists engraving and decorating custom designs and watch as artisans perform the 700-year-old tradition of glassblowing.
* Basin -- Fragrant, all-natural bath and skin care products fill the bins of this rustic shop.
* Disney's Days of Christmas -- Guests can experience year-round shopping "under the Christmas tree" as giant pine branches and ornaments hang overhead at this unique shop. Disney's Days of Christmas features Christmas collectibles, ornaments, animated figurines and other accessories for the holiday season, including a wide selection of Hanukkah merchandise.
*Disney’s Design-a-Tee -- At interactive kiosks, guests can choose from a selection of Disney characters and text to create colorful, personalized T-shirts. The tees range from $20-$30 and come in a variety of styles. The new venue is located near The Art of Disney.
* Disney’s Pin Traders -- Disney’s pin phenomenon finds a cozy home at this circular shop, the premier location for pin trading at Walt Disney World Resort. Collectors and traders can catch up on the latest pin releases and special pin events at two Internet stations.
* Disney's Wonderful World of Memories -- A unique collection of Walt Disney World-branded scrapbook supplies can be found here, including albums, kits, adhesive tape pens and stickers, plus Disney stationery and postcards.
* LEGO Imagination Center -- A dynamic showplace and retail store for famous LEGO bricks and toys with an interactive playground and towering LEGO displays. Outside, a 12-foot T-Rex model, Brickley, the sea serpent, and a larger-than-life robot stand tall. Inside, there’s the world’s largest LEGO Pick-A-Brick wall and hands-on kids’ activities.
* Mickey’s Mart-Everything Ten Dollars and Under -- Unique gifts, surprise grab bags and highlighted item of the week, all at value pricing.
* Mickey’s Pantry -- The family chef can explore culinary trends and find kitchen gadgets galore, from unique cooking utensils to mugs, teas and coffees.
* Once Upon a Toy -- This 16,000-square-foot toy store features new toys, games and collectibles combining the magic of Disney and the fun of Hasbro, including a MR. * Pooh Corner -- Travel to the Hundred Acre Wood to meet up with Winnie the Pooh and his friends at this store dedicated to Disney's honey-loving character. Guests will find a wide array of merchandise featuring Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet, Rabbit and the rest of the gang.
* Team Mickey's Athletic Club -- Giving sports fans something to cheer about, this store is packed with Disney character apparel along with a selection of golf, NASCAR and authentic ESPN sporting goods. * World of Disney Store -- The world’s largest Disney character store offers a constantly changing selection of unique merchandise, including adult and children’s clothing, jewelry, CDs, videos, DVDs, software, toys, collectibles, candy, housewares and much more among 50,000 square feet of themed shopping areas.
