We have our first CL stay at the Poly booked for our anniversary in October. Can't wait to try it. I don't have any specific questions right now, but may as the time gets closer. I am loving looking at the Poly pics. The view from the lounge is amazing.
Tikiman has a new website. http://www.tikimanpages.com/tiki/ @**!

Very cool, Maxie. Thanks for posting that. I was wondering if he was quitting it altogether or what......Glad he didn't. That has great Poly info.
I can tell you the Poly CL food is fabu. IT really is.....and that takes a lot for me to admit. <<0>> They have this POG juice....Pineapple, orange guava that is out of this world. It makes my mouth water talking about it!!! And then the Pineapple bread!!! OMG.....scrumptious. Truly. <@@> and at the 5 pm time....they have some yummmmmmy stuff. Sometimes the GF stuff is a bit over the top froo froo for me....but the Poly food is real people food and it is GOOD EATS. <@@>

That's how I feel about the GF food too. There is a lot of it I don't eat. <<0>> I like real people food. The Poly food sounds great, can't wait to try it. Hope they are not cutting back too.
I was very happy to get my new newsletter today from Steve announcing his new site. In last months newsletter he said he was closing his site, but would still put out his newsletters. E:
Thank you for the beautiful pictures! I'm a little afraid I'm not going to like the Poly, It had always reminded me of that episode of the Brady bunch when they went to Hawaii. <<0>> But it was cheaper than the GF. We have a moderate budget and deluxe taste.
Anyway, does anyone know if Tokelau is a good building to be in? I requested that one because I want a balcony and that building has balcony on 2nd and 3rd floor. I also thought it was centrally located for convenience.

We've stayed at the Poly a few times.

It is a fun resort in summer. I LOVE the Brady Bunch...and I love when they went to Hawaii. :\: I am in no way a Poly expert...there are some here though!! They need to come out of hiding.....
I also heard Tokelau has the larger double sink bathrooms. That sounds like a plus to me...I don't like the way the poly bathrooms are laid out with the one sink and all in one room.....but two sinks is a good thing. *?* That helps!
There is a map at the front of this thread...(I better check that lol) I think Tokalau is nicely located in regards to the GCH too.

Ha Ha I like the Brady Bunch too, Its just that the Poly always seemed like the 70's Brady era to me KWIM? I'm going to try to be creative about the sinks in the bathroom. I will try to put my make-up on and blow dry my hair at the desk while someone is in the shower, otherwise 4 of us will take a long time to get ready in the AM.

It totally is Brady Bunch goes Hawaii!! *?* When we were in Oahu...there is a "Polynesian Village" or something like that.....probably not that name exactly ;@) ...but it's like a museum..and it is totally Poly resort!!! It made us miss WDW so bad. ;-( We chose Hawaii over WDW for spring break that year.
I do that too at the desk sometimes because the bathrooms have crummy ventilation and get so muggy. #<( Or I take a shower at night and just sleep on a wet head and deal with it in the morning. Most nights that's my plan.
I think that building has some of the largest rooms too.

So that's a plus.

Disney90.....I'm by no means a Poly expert......but we had an awesome stay there in Sept '07

). We were in Samoa, which was very convenient to everything......the GCH, the beach, the volcano pool, and Captain Cooks

. I know we'll love the GF once we stay there, but we really do love the Poly +)). We didn't think the 1 sink was too much of a problem....but when the other resorts have double sinks outside the bathroom area, the 1 sink in the bathroom takes a little getting used to ;@). I think you'll have a great trip.....remember to try the hammocks on the beach.....those are great for taking a nap $%$.
Chan.....I love all the pics

........makes me want to be there right now *?*.

I found this bit of info and thought you Poly fans might give it a go. <@@>
Learn to hula dance at Disneys Polynesian Resort, where complimentary classes take place most days in the resorts lobby. Auntie Kaui, a hula dancer and instructor with 50 years experience, leads most of the classes offered Monday through Saturday at 3:45 p.m., and Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. until noon. Weekday classes are geared toward the younger set, with leis and grass skirts aplenty, while the Saturday morning lessons encourage guests of all ages to do the hula shake. And whether guests stay for five minutes or the full two-hour Saturday classes, theyll learn a variety of chants and dances from such tropical locales as Hawaii, Tahiti and more.
Happy Hulaing! (())

Chan, I didn't care for a lot of the evening offerings in RPC either. I saw the daily menu for the Poly evening offerings and a lot of the items come from Ohana, Kona and the Luau. We enjoyed our meal at Ohanas, but after awhile, I felt everything tasted the same, very sweet. DH wants to stay Poly CL next, and I'm wondering if we should skip the DxDDP and just go DDP. But reading about the food has me worried.
I've also read that breakfast is really limited. It looks similar to BWI-CL, not nearly as vast as RPC.
So what do you think, is the Poly food good and plentiful?
